Can you substitute sake for chinese rice wine, I live in Denmark and do not know if they sell it here?
@todd8333 Yes, you can. However, it has a different flavour than chinese rice wine. But this change in flavour is preferred by some. So it depends on the cook mainly.
Pale Dry Sherry or Gin are probably the best subsitutes however, as they have much closer flavours to chinese rice wine.
The water to make steam is a really good idea
Will the marinade be great with chicken or beef? I’m really keen on trying out this recipe but I can’t consume pork.
